## Beat by beat

| Time | Beat | On screen |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 0:00–0:01 | The standoff | A wide shot of a ruined, cold-lit building: a woman holds a handgun on a golden retriever standing a few metres away. |
| 0:01–0:04 | The hesitation | Close on her face. She is crying, the gun shakes in both hands, and she slowly lowers it. |
| 0:04–0:06 | The dog | The retriever stands still and looks up at her. The model kept the dog looking like itself: no grey skin or white eyes. |
| 0:06–0:10 | The hug | She wraps both arms around the dog and holds on, eyes shut, as the score swells and the clip ends on the embrace. |

## What to notice

- **The dog stays a dog.** The model did not give him zombie features; the tension comes from the gun and the cold setting.
- **The close-up at 0:01.** The scene cuts in on her face for the hesitation, which is where the clip earns the hug.
- **The hug at 0:06.** The last four seconds hold on the embrace while the score peaks.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does the dog look like a zombie?

No. In this render the model kept the dog's normal, healthy look; only the setting and the gun make it a zombie scene.

### Which slot was the dog in?

The second slot, the one who turns. The woman, holding the gun, is the survivor in the first slot.

### Can I do this with a cat?

You can upload any pet photo, but this dog clip is the only pet sample we have published.
