## Beat by beat

| Time | Beat | On screen |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 0:00–0:03 | The confrontation | In a dark, abandoned kitchen the survivor, in tears, aims a handgun at her partner. He has turned: grey skin, milky white eyes, blood at the corner of his mouth. |
| 0:03–0:05 | The surrender | She breaks down and lowers the gun. He rushes toward her across the kitchen. No shot is fired. |
| 0:05–0:10 | The memory | A match cut drops them into a golden-hour alpine meadow. He is healthy again; they catch each other, spin and tumble into the grass laughing. |
| 0:10–0:12 | The sunset | A wide shot shows the two of them sitting together on a grassy ridge as the sun sets behind the mountains. |

- **The match cut at 0:05.** He is mid-rush in the kitchen, and the next frame is the meadow with the same embrace. That cut is what makes the trend work.
- **Faces across settings.** Both people keep their look from the grey kitchen to the golden meadow and the sunset.
- **The sound.** Piano and low strings under the standoff, an orchestral swell at the cut, warm piano to the end. No dialogue.
- **No violence.** The gun is lowered and never fired.
