Yes, you can do the zombie trend with your dog: put your photo in the first slot and your dog's in the second, choose the Zombie hug scene, and you get a 10-second clip where you lower the gun and hug your dog. The video on this page is a real output from our generator, made exactly that way with a golden retriever.

Video: [Zombie hug with a dog (10 seconds)](https://zombie-aivideo.org/samples/zombie-hug.mp4) (10s, 9:16). Real output, Zombie hug scene, 10 seconds, 9:16. She lowers the gun by 0:04, the retriever looks up at her, and from 0:06 to the end she holds him.

## What happens in our dog clip, second by second

Here is exactly what the model produced. Nothing below is staged or edited; the file on this page is the render, compressed for the web.

| Time | On screen |
| --- | --- |
| 0–1s | Wide shot of an empty, ruined building in cold blue light. A woman in a cream fleece holds a handgun on a golden retriever standing a few metres away. |
| 1–4s | Close-up of her face: crying, both hands on the gun, which shakes and then comes down out of frame. |
| 4–6s | Cut to the dog. He stands still and looks up at her, ears soft. |
| 6–10s | She pulls him into a hug, eyes closed, face against his fur. The score swells and the clip ends on the embrace. |

Standoff, the dog, the hug: three frames from the real output.

## How the dog looks as the zombie

The honest answer: in our render he does not look like a zombie. The model kept the retriever looking like himself, healthy coat, clear eyes, no grey skin. The horror comes entirely from the setting and from her holding the gun on him. Most people find that gentler and more moving than a gory dog, and it is why the pet version of the trend tends to get "I'm not crying, you're crying" comments.

If you want the dog to look infected, add a line in the direction box such as "the dog has cloudy white eyes and a dusty, matted coat". We have not rendered that variant ourselves, so treat it as a suggestion rather than a promise.

## Which scene and settings we used

- **Scene:** Zombie hug (the generator on this page starts on it).
- **Length:** 10 seconds, the hug default.
- **Format:** 9:16 vertical.
- **Model and quality:** Standard (Seedance 2.0 Mini) at 720p, 9 credits.
- **Roles:** the woman is the survivor (slot 1); the dog is the one she lowers the gun for (slot 2).

We would not use the Zombie love story scene for a pet. Its memory sequence is written for a couple (spinning, tumbling into the grass, sitting on a ridge), and a dog in that role is unpredictable.

## Photo tips for pets

1. **One animal per photo.** Two dogs in the frame confuse the reference.
2. **Face the camera.** A front-on head shot at eye level works far better than a dog seen from above.
3. **Clear face, good light.** Outdoor daylight is ideal. Avoid photos where the eyes glow from the flash.
4. **Show some body.** Head and shoulders, or the whole dog sitting, gives the model a shape for the hug.
5. **Your own photo matters too.** Use a sharp, front-facing photo of yourself in slot 1.

Cats and other pets go in the same slot. We have only published a dog sample, so we cannot show you how a cat renders; the same photo rules apply.

## Make your own pet version

Upload your photo and your pet's photo in the generator on this page, keep the Zombie hug scene at 10 seconds and generate. A standard 12-second video is 10 credits ($6.99 for the smallest pack); the 10-second hug at the same settings is 9 credits. Failed renders are refunded automatically.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I make the zombie trend video with my dog?

Yes. Put your photo in the first slot and your dog's in the second, choose the Zombie hug scene and generate. Our golden retriever sample was made this way.

### Does the dog turn into a zombie?

In our real output, no: the dog kept his normal look and the tension comes from the gun and the setting. You can ask for cloudy eyes in the direction box, but we have not tested that.

### Can my dog be the survivor instead?

The scene is written for a person holding the gun, so put a person in the first slot. The pet works best as the one you lower the gun for.

### Does it work with cats?

You can upload any pet photo. We have only published a dog sample, so we cannot show a cat result; use a clear, front-facing photo of one animal.

### How much does the pet video cost?

The 10-second hug on the Standard model at 720p is 9 credits. The smallest pack is $6.99 for 10 credits.
