Why the hug scene, not the love story
The Zombie love story scene is written for a couple. After the lowered gun it cuts to the two of you spinning in a meadow, tumbling into the grass and watching the sunset together. That reads as romance whoever is in the photos, which is the last thing you want with your mom.
The Zombie hug scene has no memory sequence. It stays in one ruined room: the gun is raised, lowered, the one who turned walks toward you and you hold each other until the end. That works for any relationship.
Direction lines that keep it platonic
The direction box adds up to 600 characters to the preset. Naming the relationship helps the model choose the right body language for the hug. Some lines to start from:
| Who | Direction to add |
|---|---|
| Mom | "Mother and adult daughter. The hug is a mother's hug: she cradles her daughter's head." |
| Dad | "Father and adult son. A tight, protective hug; he pats his son's back." |
| Best friend | "Two best friends. A friendly bear hug, foreheads touching, relieved laughter through tears." |
| Sibling | "Brother and sister. A clumsy, emotional sibling hug." |
| Grandparent | "Grandmother and adult grandson. A gentle, careful hug." |
We have not rendered and published each of these variants, so we cannot show you the result for every line. They are suggestions built from how the scene prompt is written; the scene itself is the same one in the sample above.
Who goes in which slot
- Slot 1, Survivor: the person holding the gun. Usually you, the one posting.
- Slot 2, Who turns: your mom, dad, friend or sibling.
- One photo of you both: put it in slot 1. The person on the left becomes the survivor.
Everyone in the photos must be an adult and must have agreed to appear. Our generator asks you to confirm permission before each render, and our terms forbid photos of minors, so this trend is for grown-up kids and their parents, not for children.
Photo tips for family photos
- Crop family group shots down to one face per photo before uploading.
- Use recent photos. An old scanned print can work, but faces from low-resolution scans drift more.
- Front-facing and well lit, no sunglasses or heavy filters.
- Similar clothes help. Coats and sweaters look natural in the cold setting of the scene.
Caption ideas for family and friends
The family and friend versions land best with a caption that names the relationship, because the clip itself never says who the two of you are. A few starting points:
- Mom: "She raised me. I'm not shooting her now." / "Mom, even at the end of the world."
- Dad: "He taught me to be brave. I still couldn't do it."
- Best friend: "20 years of friendship and a zombie apocalypse didn't change a thing." / "Tag the friend you'd lower it for."
- Sibling: "We fought every day growing up. Not today."
Mother's Day, Father's Day, birthdays and Halloween are the usual moments people post these. Ask the person first: not everyone is happy to be shown as a zombie, even in a sweet clip.
Lengths and cost
The hug defaults to 10 seconds and can be 5, 8, 10, 12, 15 seconds. On the Standard model at 720p the 10-second hug is 9 credits and the 5-second version 5. The smallest pack is $6.99 for 10 credits, valid for 365 days.
Making one for each parent? The Plus Pack gives 30 credits; see pricing. Want a pet version too? Read the zombie trend with your dog.
Questions
Can I do the zombie trend with my mom?
Yes. Use the Zombie hug scene, put your photo first and your mom's second, and add a direction like "mother and adult daughter" so the hug reads as family.
Will the best friend version look romantic?
Not with the hug scene, which has no romantic memory sequence. Avoid the love story scene for friends, and name the relationship in the direction box.
Can I include my kids?
No. Our terms forbid photos of minors, and the scenes are written for adults.
Can three people be in the video?
No. The scenes are written for two: a survivor and one person who turns. Make a separate video for each person instead.
